This crack let's you enter an imaginary number in the CD-KEY check when you're starting the game for the first time. I haven't tested it yet but I think this should work for LAN games too. On the internet probably not because the KEY will be checked on connect to the WON.
The CD can be copied 1:1. I tested it with NERO but it should work on any other programs too!

Do a complete installation of the game
Install the 1.0.0.8 Patch
Extract the HLNOCD.exe file to the game directory
Everytime you want to play the game without CD start this EXE!

Do a complete installation of the game
Apply the 1.0.0.6 update
Remove the READ ONLY attribute from HL.exe
Extract the HALFLIFECRK.exe patch from the archive to the game directory
Execute the patch to remove the CD check
Play the game!
